This event is designed for anyone who’s interested in top-quality, animal-friendly ways of looking after and training horses, including providing them with healthy nutrition and healthcare as well as working with these wonderful creatures as true partners. Whether in riding or non-riding roles or performing dressage or Western riding, only experts who faithfully follow these principles are invited. Here there is no place for violence, hyperflexion and such practices. The most important information about horses is all presented on just one day. Whether it’s dressage, horsemanship, the training of circus routines or just general riding techniques, this is where riders can get a wealth of good, practical tips about training and looking after horses.

A charge is made for the four live training events where participants receive intensive coaching from top trainers (around 90 minutes per session – 29 euros per person): Tanja Riedinger – General riding techniques – making your horse a real friend; Uta Gräf and Stefan Schneider – Simple dressage – elegant horsemanship on easy-to-teach horses; Kenzie Dysli: Bareback riding without a bridle – how it’s done by the star of the film “Ostwind”. This live training session is a must for any Kenzie fan! It’s suitable for children aged 10 and over, and for teenagers and adults. Dr Vivian Gabor: Science & practical riding – horse-friendly problem-solving out of the saddle. The workshops are specifically tailored to each rider’s needs. Here you can expand your knowledge and riding skills in small groups both in and out of the saddle (sessions of roughly one hour – 25 euros per person). The programme of the workshops can be found at At the “CAVALLO-Ring” horse-riding arena shows and lessons are provided by well-known horse trainers throughout the day. In addition, in the CAVALLO lecture room free presentations are given on a wide range of topics relating to the most fascinating hobby in the world. Whether you’re interested in the health and well-being of your horse, the right saddle or the right feed, or suitable training for the horse, every rider will find a presentation that suits him/her.

Visitors can also obtain free information at exhibitors’ stands in the beautiful grounds of Wickrath castle – and of course do a bit of shopping. The horse experts are also on hand all day long to answer any questions that you may have. There are several food vans and snack bars where visitors can get a wide range of things to eat. Vegetarian dishes are also available. Dogs are allowed in the grounds if they are kept on a lead.
