After a successful start to the year in January with a series of three home competitions at the Vitusbad it’s clear that Mönchengladbach is a true sporting city which is not limited to football. The next opportunities to see for yourself what is going on are on the 23rd / 24th of March at the 12th NEW swim meeting, and on the 11th / 12th of May at the 5th NEW swim days. The organizer is SG MG (Mönchengladbach swimming club). SG-MG is an amalgamation of the Mönchengladbach MSV 01 swimming club and the Rheydt SSV swimming club. The amalgamation means that swimming as a performance sport can be promoted through professional training right from an early age.
The events on both days run from 9 in the morning until about 5 p.m. On each of the two weekends 500-600 swimmers are expected who will make up a total of approx. 3,000 individual entries. Food is also provided in the form of baked cakes, sandwiches, sausages and salad. Anyone who needs swimming equipment can also obtain it at the event.
Anyone who is keen to see speed, performance and commitment will not be disappointed and will be very welcome as a spectator. Swimmers from the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia will be competing at the Vitusbad.
Children and young people who are looking for an opportunity to take part in training should note that the MSV regularly carries out talent spotting sessions at Rheindahlen swimming baths. The next dates are on 26th March, 25th June, and 24th September 2019. The deadline for applications is 2 days beforehand in each case (firstname.lastname@example.org).
