ALGE

The creations by David Rütten are intended to arouse people’s curiosity and make them enthusiast eaters of vegan cookery. The restaurant spoils its customers with high-quality, purely vegetarian products. Where possible the food is sourced from the beautiful Lower Rhine area around Mönchengladbach, and it’s always top-quality and grown in an environmentally friendly manner which is appropriate for each variety of plant. Care is taken to support firms and farmers which operate according to ethical standards. What you end up eating at David Rütten’s restaurant depends on the season and the quality of what is available. The varied menus are conjured up before your eyes in the ‘open’ kitchen! At Alge diners are able to see what is cooked, and where and how it is cooked.

Xiclô Vietnamese Street Food

Healthy, tasty, and above all fresh – that’s what Xiclô is all about. Diners enjoy authentic Vietnamese dishes in a very special atmosphere with subtle lighting. Here you experience a delightful mix of modernity and traditional Vietnamese culture. The dishes are prepared by the family members, and they are intended to convince you that Vietnam is worth visiting if only on account of its food! All the soups, sauces and main dishes are of course home-made. In addition, there is a large range of traditional spices which are sourced directly from Vietnam. There are also Asian beers, home-made lemonade and smoothies, as well as authentic Vietnamese coffee.

Nierskind – specialist meat restaurant

Here you can enjoy dry-aged steaks which are matured by the restaurant itself, as well as fresh fruit & really juicy burgers. A lot of patience, experience and care goes into ageing the meat, and it’s prepared in our Josper grill/oven using genuine Quebracho charcoal. Tender steaks, top class sashimi fish dishes, and fresh steak tartare and creative burgers are served for meat connoisseurs. All the free-range beef cattle are from the local area and they are procured from specially selected farms. In addition, there is always a wide range of special cuts from around the world. The home-made mayonnaises, the legendary Gladbach ketchup and various dressings, and the French fries are freshly made every day. You can see and taste the difference. It’s simply delicious.

Stefano · Trattoria & Bar

Since July 2016 Trattoria Stefano has been one of the main attractions in the QUARTIER B. KÜHLEN development. It’s slightly reminiscent of Italy, surrounded by ancient olive trees, lavender and rosemary. At Trattoria Stefano you can enjoy a real slice of Italian culture. We cook with fresh ingredients every day, including organic olive oil produced from our own olives and house wine from our own vineyards in Umbria, and of course the necessary passion that goes into creating the best food and drink. Restaurant manager Vincent Sussmann and chef Daniel Galli make every guest feel special in line with their lifelong passion for providing a great dining experience.
