Best of Sightseeing
Mönchengladbach’s
popular city tours
Mönchengladbach – the largest city on the left bank of the Lower Rhine has a lot to offer with more than 1,000 years of history: Formerly called the “Rhenish Manchester” and today often referred to as “the green metropolis on the Lower Rhine”, this already indicates that there are special facets beyond a generally perceived city profile that are worth a conscious look. With our diverse city tours, we would like to show you the many beautiful facets of Mönchengladbach.

City Hall Abbey
Sights of the city

Life & People
Mönchengladbach at a glance
Mönchengladbach is a lovable and liveable city and, with almost 270,000 inhabitants, one of the largest metropolises on the left bank of the Lower Rhine. The cityscape is characterised by a charming combination of urban flair and rural charm. It is not for nothing that the city, with its numerous parks and forests, is also called a “metropolis in the countryside”. But we have much more to offer! Art, for example: from important architectural monuments to a museum of world renown and a renowned theatre to an agile cabaret, creative and cabaret scene.
And if you like shopping, you’ve come to the right place. In the numerous pedestrian zones, galleries and especially in the Minto shopping centre, there is a wide and varied offer for every taste.
