What makes
Rheindahlen so beautiful

Rheindahlen is a rather rural district, where old farmsteads and farms spread the Lower Rhine charm of the surrounding countryside. In particular, the Sankt-Peter-Straße, which is also a historical monument, is considered one of the most beautiful streets in Mönchengladbach. The centre of Rheindahlen is small but charming – with small boutiques, a farm shop, the old fountain, the Kappesbuer and St Helena’s Church. The market square is not only the location for the weekly market, here meetings and socialising are also in the foreground, especially at the annual traditional events: Kappesfest, Erntedank feast and Winterkappes. Of course, Rheindahlen can also be experienced in a pleasurable way: Mones Café Herzlich is famous for its pancakes evening, while at Bolten’s Jägerhof you can enjoy a traditional meal and taste brewery specialities.
In the south of Rheindahlen-Mitte is the district sports facility, where not only sports enthusiasts get their money’s worth. The spacious green areas with several public barbecue areas offer enough space to spend a cosy summer day with family and friends. Not far from the sports facility you will find the Social Club – a mixture of bar and gastronomy in vintage style.

Rheindahlen Mönchengladbach

Shark teeth and stone axes – even that can be found in Rheindahlen. The archaeological museum in the Rheindahlen water tower is one of the most important Stone Age sites in the Lower Rhine. It exhibits around 15,000 finds from the Stone Age epochs, some of which are up to 500,000 years old. But that’s not all: Rheindahlen is also home to an astronomical observatory, where observations take place regularly in the darker months and astrological highlights can be discovered.
Even the well-known Nordpark belongs to Rheindahlen-Umland and has become a modern and innovative business location for many well-known companies on an area of about 160 hectares. Many office buildings have aesthetic architecture that is well worth seeing. In the middle of the Nordpark is not only the SparkassenPark, where concerts are held, but also the main artery of Mönchengladbach football. Borussia has its headquarters here and offers many highlights with Borussia Park and the FohlenWelt, the most modern football museum in Europe.
