Mönchengladbach is sentimentally attached to the diamond logo. Borussia Mönchengladbach, the “Foals” club which was founded in 1900 and which has played its home games at BORUSSIA-PARK since the 30th of July 2004, has kicked off a new era. There have been great moments, but difficult times too – and together they have helped to create the “Borussia legend” since 1st August 1900. But hockey is also really important in Mönchengladbach. The biggest event to date was the 2006 Men’s Hockey World Cup which drew about 100,000 spectators to the hockey stadium over the twelve days of the event. Since then it has been the regular venue for games played by the national teams within the German Hockey Federation which also has its business headquarters at the stadium. The games of American football and baseball which are so popular in the United States are now also keenly followed here.
From Monday, 2 November, stricter Corona restrictions will apply throughout Germany. New infections can only be avoided if we are all cautious in the coming weeks and adhere to the given rules. Attendance at sporting events and active participation in sporting events are not permitted until further notice.
